Power Play 2.0 and the Mandalay: A First Look
The Elite Dangerous Ascendancy update is set to bring with it a number of significant changes to the game, including a revamped Power Play system and the introduction of the new Zorgon Peterson Mandalay explorer ship. In this video, Commander Burr takes a first look at both of these additions.
Power Play 2.0
Power Play 2.0 aims to make the system more accessible and engaging for players. One of the key changes is that players will now have access to all of the modules and weapons that are available in the game, regardless of which power they are allied with. However, each power will grant access to these modules in a different order, so players will need to level up with a power in order to unlock the modules that they want.
In addition to module rewards, players will also receive a number of other benefits for pledging to a power, such as reduced rebuy costs, increased mining profits, and increased minor faction reputation gains.
The Mandalay
The Mandalay is a new exploration ship that is being added to the game in the Ascendancy update. It is equipped with a powerful jump drive and a number of other features that make it ideal for long-range exploration. The Mandalay also has a sleek and stylish design.
Commander Burr’s initial impressions of the Mandalay are very positive. He finds the ship to be easy to fly and maneuver, and he is impressed with its jump range. He also likes the ship’s looks.
Overall
Commander Burr is overall positive about the changes that are being made to Power Play and the introduction of the Mandalay. He believes that these changes will make the game more enjoyable for players.
