Mortal Online 2: The Reforge Patch – Key Changes from PTR to Live
The “Reforge Patch” (Patch 2.3.0.4.3) has officially moved from testing to the live servers of Mortal Online 2. Following significant community feedback during the PTR phase, developer Star Vault implemented several high-impact adjustments to balance, progression, and quality of life.
Major Adjustments to Prominence Upkeep
One of the most critical shifts from the PTR version involves Prominence upkeep. On the test server, players found the upkeep numbers to be prohibitively high.
- The Live Change: Star Vault significantly toned down these requirements for the live release.
- Impact: This rebalance is particularly vital for smaller guilds and settlements, making it sustainable for them to maintain their infrastructure without the crushing costs seen during testing.
Clade Gift Experience Rebalance
The progression system saw a major overhaul to address the “XP wall” many players encountered.
- Smoothing the Curve: The steep experience requirements after level 15 have been removed. The journey from level 15 to level 20 is now much smoother.
- Instant Leveling: In a move to compensate for previous efforts, players who were already level 18 at the time of the patch were automatically boosted to level 20.
Combat and Ability Tweaks
Several combat mechanics were fine-tuned based on how they performed in the PTR:
- Death Hand: This ability received a “smaller” damage nerf than originally planned, which was balanced by an improved casting time and a reduction in mana cost.
- Micro Tweaks: Various other combat abilities received minor adjustments to ensure better fluidity and balance in engagement.
Quality of Life and Ruleset Updates
Beyond the numbers and stats, the patch introduced several improvements to the player experience:
- VOIP and Audio: New audio settings and general improvements to the Voice Over IP system have been implemented to enhance communication.
- Murder Reporting: The rules regarding murder reporting have been updated, changing how players interact with the consequences of world PvP.
