CCP Games has apparently sold White Wolf and all of its properties — including World of Darkness and Vampire: The Masquerade — to Paradox, a publisher based in Sweden. Paradox VP Shams Jorjani broke the news on the Twitters:
CCP began work on the then-much-anticipated World of Darkness, a VTM-themed hardcore sandbox, after it acquired White Wolf in 2006, with the game reportedly reaching alpha three times during its troubled development. But CCP canceled the game and laid of a large portion of its Atlanta studio in April of 2014. At the time, it had not publicly decided what to do with the IP. Now we know.
We’ve reached out to CCP to inquire about the fate of World of Darkness’ code and assets and will update if and when we learn more. See below for updates.
