Mortal Online: Patch Notes

  • Added support for talking with guards. You can now talk to guards and ask them for directions to important places in the city.
  • Added more checks when attacking with a pet to make sure the target can be attacked.
  • Re Added the big saburra rock outside of Meduli.

  • Balanced Prowers carcass drop that was too high compared to other Ai.
  • Slightly increased the drop rate of Gems from manual mining.
  • New system for saving settings and UI configuration. All settings including UI layout will now be saved in a local ini file instead of on a server.
  • Tooltips are now better at sensing the edges of the screen, and thus better positioned.
  • “Auto toggle mouse mode on windows close” has been removed because it didn’t work and was deemed unimportant.
  • Removed the “Foliage range” setting from the in-game graphics settings because this setting couldn’t be properly changed at runtime. Now this setting can only be changed in the launcher.
  • The “scale windows by screen size” setting has been removed because it didn’t work and was deemed unimportant.
  • The “hide tooltips on hotbars” setting has been removed because it didn’t work and was deemed unimportant.
  • The “disable window open animation” setting has renamed to “disable window CLOSE animation”, because that’s what it actually does.
  • Disabling “always in targeting mode” now immediately exits targetting mode instead of the player having to press tab once before it toggled off.
  • Tweaked interaction range for player trading so that there aren’t two different “fail” messages depending on how far you are from the other player. (the actual effective range for trading has not changed!)
  • “Exit mouse mode on move” now also exits mouse mode on sideways movement.
  • Improved art in Morin Khur
  • Rebuilt some of the houses in Morin Khur

  • Fixed some pickables that could not be used in alchemy.
  • Fixed issues with Unarmed Technique skill not raising correctly at all times.
  • Fixed Giant Kurnas floating.
  • Fixed more floating stuff on Myrland.
  • Fixed Sarducaa bug items to stack at 10 to be in line with other items of that type.
  • Fixed the issue where numbers on hotbar icons disappeared.
  • Fixed an extraction table that gave the wrong info when trying to use Toghair Globule.
  • Fixed a calculation error that gave players with locked stats slightly higher movementspeed then they should have.

The Gloria Victis dev team has been working on “two massive features” in recent weeks, according to a post that appeared on the fantasy sandbox’s forum over the weekend. The first versions of both the building and the skill systems will be done in a few days, the announcement says.

The building system involves upgrading existing towns with stronger gates and offensive equipment like falling logs and boiling oil, water, and tar. All of these objects are able to be destroyed (or repaired). The post also says that building whole towns and castles will happen in the near future, as will the ability to upgrade mines and farms for better resources.

The first iteration of Gloria Victis‘ skill system will feature dozens of passives that should further differentiate avatars inside the game’s class-less advancement system. You can read more on the game’s forum.
